STAFF EDGAR A. MOHORKO
Edgar was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised in Puerto Rico where, while singing from a balcony of a dorm, he met his wife, Marta, of over 38 years. He is the second of six children; has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He returned to the states via the Army and was stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma where his three daughters were born, then moved to Oxnard, California in 1985; his son, Edgar Jr. was born in 1990 in Ventura. Edgar began his studies in Business Administration at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico but later continued school at School of Theology of Montebello (of the Foursquare Church) where he received his bachelors, he earned his masters from Azusa Pacific University and is an Organizational Leadership Doctoral Candidate at Pepperdine University. He has been working with the homeless and other less fortunate individuals since his arrival to Oxnard. Edgar has been a Gang-Intervention Expert and Consultant to several cities throughout the State of California for over 35 years. He is and has been the Senior Pastor for “Messiah” Fellowship Center of Oxnard since 1987.
He enjoys spending as much time as possible with his 4 grandchildren. One of his favorite things to do is sing to everyone and anyone, he enjoys spending time with the residents at Heritage House and is passionate and devoted to bringing them as much joy as possible.
