STAFF Rosemarie Harris
Rosemarie has held a variety of positions supporting the needs of seniors in Santa Barbara County since 1981. Her dedication and love of seniors began early on with the desire to spend as much time with her grandmother as she could. She volunteered as a Candy Striper at Homestead Hospital while attending Jr. High school and following her move from the east coast to Santa Barbara, she has held positions as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Activities Director, Social Service Designee, Administrative Assistant and Director of Assisted Living. All of the diverse responsibilities and experiences from skilled nursing, sub-acute care, adult day care, support services, specialized care for those challenged with dementia and assisted living have afforded Rosemarie opportunities to develop innovative programs over the years and brings those experiences as the Administrator of Heritage House and maintains the RCFE Administrator Certification.
Rosemarie was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and made Santa Barbara her home in 1980. She is the eldest of 2 sisters and a brother. Although she enjoys traveling back to Pittsburgh to visit family, she is grateful every day for the privilege of living in beautiful Santa Barbara. She is a proud mother of a son and daughter who have blessed her with the joy of 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters’. Knowing how very quickly our children grow, Grams looks forward to spending time on the weekends playing with her grandchildren. Rosemarie enjoys regular trips to San Antonia Creek trails with Bo, Core Training classes at Heritage House, gardening, music, dancing, reading and a balance of spending time with loved ones and precious alone time!
Rosemarie is intentional of her spiritual pursuit, attending weekly church services, Bible Study and participating in activities that support our community needs, listening to Gospel and Christian music first thing every morning and fellowship with others. Her favorite (what her granddaughter Sashya calls, God song) is “From the Inside Out” by Seventh Day Slumber. She describes her work at Heritage House as a ministry and a privilege to serve others.
Rosemarie is passionate about her responsibilities at Heritage House, dedicating to being available for residents, staff and family members. She can be reached by e-mail or by calling 805-967-2661 ext. 104 or by the direct line of 805-879-5904.
